He maintains a direct responsibility for this training by sitting on the Department for Transport committee for training and development of FIT and National Drug Drive Training

Field Impairment Testing and Drug Influence Recognition Practitioners Course
(2 Days minimum)
Aim: To provide students with the skills and knowledge to administer the Field Impairment Tests and understand the influence of drugs on a person

This course can be run at your location or arrangements can be made with us to identify an appropriate place, whichever suits your budget. This course is run annually, although others may be available dependent on demand.
Aim: To provide student’s with the skills and knowledge to successfully deliver Field Impairment Testing and Drug Influence Recognition, and to enable student to become proficient in the use of FIT and understand the problems of the differing types of impaired driving.
Module 1 – Understanding the aims and objectives of the training
Module 2 – Relevant legislation and practices
Module 3 – Field Impairment Testing
Module 4 – Using Securetec Drugwipe
Module 5 – Human Physiology and the role of the forensic physician
Module 6 – Other conditions associated with Impaired Driving (e.g Fatigue)
Module 7 – Interpreting the signs and symptoms of drug influence
Module 8 – Written Examination & Practical Assessments
This is an annual course generally run towards the end of October/November. We can run it at your location with a minimum of 8 officers in attendance. Other courses may be arranged dependent on demand.
